I believe my work ethic is what sets me apart from others. I work very hard both on and off the field. I work extremely hard at practice, learning and executing both offensive and defensive plays. I continue my off-season workouts with my strength and conditioning coach, Eric Potis (Tank) who formerly was employed as the University of Michigan weight trainer from 2009-2012. Coach Potis has developed a personalized nutrition routine as well as an intense workout regimen using Mike Barwis methods. I also work with a speed and agility coach to improve my quickness and explosiveness on the field. Along with my workouts, I am able to maintain a 3.36 G.P.A. in school. I believe that the quality of my character together with my talent sets me apart from others on the field.

I play my role as a strong offensive leader both when I'm hitting hard on the field and when I'm on the sideline. Playing in a high-contact role, I use my situational awareness and clear intelligence about my positions, to protect the offense and light up the defense. Knowing the physicality of my role, I absorb coaching instruction and implement it to avoid risk. My ability to play both offense and defense displays my skill and flexibility as a player, stepping up whenever called upon to support my team. I am a natural leader who thrives not only as the backbone of my offense but also as a supporter of my coaches and teammates. As the only returning offensive lineman on the Midland team this year, my leadership and dependability will serve the team well and be an opportunity for me to mentor younger players while continuing my own growth.

I have a few goals that I have set for myself. Next year I would like to make National Honor Society. This year I had a 3.36 G.P.A. and I need to have a 3.4 to be considered. I would also like to make it to the semi-finals (at least) next football season. Last year was my most memorable season to date, as we made it to the semi-finals and lost to an excellent, Mona Shores football team. I have personal goals as well. I aspire to be chosen as our team MVP and would find it truly honorable to be chosen as an All-State player.

My dream is to play football at the next level. It is something that I have worked toward my whole life. My father, Charles Thomas Jr. was recruited in 1987 from Hacienda Heights, California as the first African American Offensive Lineman at Central Michigan University. My uncle, Malcolm Thomas was also recruited to play college football at Central Michigan University. I have another uncle, Darryl Thomas who has just been hired as the head football coach for one of the top high schools in California. Football has deep roots in our family history. Playing football at the next level is a tradition that I would be proud to continue in my family. It is of the utmost importance to find a school that has my intended major and that would also be a good fit for me, personally.
