The D - Zone - What have you been doing this off-season to prepare yourself for the 2012 season?

Richard Wilson - "All this off season I have been in the weight room and getting one on one football training. My goals for my Junior year is to go all state and get to the state championship. Also, I just want to get my team to keep getting better every day and go hard 24/7."

The D - Zone - What was one of the best skills that you developed last season?

Richard Wilson - "I believe one of my best skills I deveopled last season would have to be quickness and strength."

The D - Zone - What were some goals and milestones that you set in 2011?

Richard Wilson - "Some milestone goals I set in 2011 was to come out and do my best and get the state championship. And I can say that I did accomplish the goal of coming out and doing my best. I had 10 touchdowns my first full year on varsity, and I feel like that is pretty good for a Sophomore. But my other goal has yet to be accomplished. But I promise you, this year we will get that state championship."

The D - Zone - What will you take away from last season and attempt to apply it to the 2012 season?

Richard Wilson - "I will take away the fact that we have to take every practice serious and come out in hit hard. Last year we were kind of relaxed at the beginning of the year, then later on began to pick up are intensity and win. But this year, were starting the intensity from the get go. And we will be ready for whatever comes our way."

The D - Zone - Have you thought about any goals that you would like to set for yourself for the 2012 season?

Richard Wilson - "Well for this season, some goals I'm trying to accomplish is to go all state and win the state chaompionship. I believe with hard work and the right mind set both goals can be accomplished."

The D - Zone - How do you feel you can impact a game?

Richard Wilson - "I feel that running game wise I am a key player. I believe that when my team is looking for a good running game or first down, my team looks to me to score. I truly believe that if the coach put me in the game at any spot I will make a impact because I will give it my all. I'm talking about 103 %."

The D - Zone - What separates you from other's who play the same position as you?

Richard Wilson - "What separates me from others at my position is my determination and dedication. Everyday I go do a football workout so I can better myself. Every weekend I have a personal trainer that I work with that helps me become a better overall player. I am determined to be the best and help my team in anyway possible. I will not let my team or coaches down. I am so determined to get states this year that I just can't wait to get the football season going. But I'm not the only one that feels that way. My whole team is ready, we know our goal."

The D - Zone - What were some differences you noticed in the way you played from a Freshman compared to your Sophomore year?

Richard Wilson - "Some differences I noticed that I matured mentally, physically and focused more. Now, I don’t take football as a game and something I do to have fun. I play football because its my life. But don’t get me wrong it is fun, but every game I put my heart on the field. Also, I noticed I became stronger and faster. Lifting all winter and speed training has really paid off."

The D - Zone - It's been two straight years of being knocked out by Crockett, what went wrong for Country Day those two games?

Richard Wilson - "I believe what went wrong was the beginning of the game. I believe that at the first start of the game we were not giving it are all. But toward the end we started to go hard."

The D - Zone - What kind of challenge do you face, playing a schedule with so many diverse opponents from around the area?

Richard Wilson - "Honestly, there is not really big challenge. Rather then having a long bus ride. I believe if we come onto the field and give it are all. No matter where we go, who we face, we can get the job done."

The D - Zone - Have you had a chance to attend any camps so far this Spring?

Richard Wilson - "I did attend two camps. I attended the Midwest Elite Combine, and the Michigan Elite Camp. I believe that I did do well, but there is always room for improvement. But during both camps I did get a interview and have been published in a article."

The D - Zone - Are there any camps that you are looking forward to this Spring and Summer?

Richard Wilson - "This summer I will be attending Stanford camp and the MSU camp."

The D - Zone - What is a big game on your schedule that you have circled and why?

Richard Wilson - "The big game that I'm looking forward to is our second game vs. U of D at our home field. U of D is our rivals and every year they think they are all that and can beat us. But my team refuses to lose."

The D - Zone - Who is the rival on your schedule? How important is it beating this team and what does beating this team mean to you, your teammates, and fans?

Richard Wilson - "Our rival is U of D and beating this team means a lot to me and my teammates. We really don’t like this team at all. And our fans expect us to beat them because it’s the biggest game of the year, and its always a great game to be at."

The D - Zone - If I had a college coach sent to you and he asked why he should have you on his team, what you tell him?

Richard Wilson - "I would tell the coach that I will give my all, all the time. I take in advice and knowledge well, and I'm willing to do whatever can make the team better as a whole. And if the coach needs someone to depends on, it can be me."

The D - Zone - How has the recruiting process been going so far for you?

Richard Wilson - "The recruiting process has been going quite well. I received multiple letters this years from different schools and talked to multiple coaches. For instance, MSU, Michigan, Penn State, Wisconsin, Western Michigan, Cinncinati, and many more. They all want me to keep in contact and attend camps."
