Waterford Mott grad and family effected by Hurricane Harvey, how you can help this week
The devastation of the recent Hurricane Harvey in Houston, Texas has touched people across the world and in this particular case it's hitting hard to a fellow Waterford native. Jeremy Koger was a phenomenal 3-sport athlete at Waterford Mott High School in Oakland County in the graduating Class of 1996. Koger played; Football, Basketball, and Baseball as a Corsair before going to play Quarterback at Grand Valley State University.
Koger now lives in Katy, Texas with his family of his wife and 3 kids. Katy is a suburb of Houston, approximately 30 miles west of Houston. Koger and his family are safe from the storm but have stepped up to the plate to help others not as fortunate.
The Koger family have provided Hurricane victim families and individuals with compassion and shelter following the disaster. The Kogers are housing the strangers and assisting in trying to salvage what the victims have lost in this difficult time.
Waterford Mott Head Coach, Chris Fahr and his Assistant Coach, Mike Bolan have been in communication with Jeremy. Fahr is requesting Waterford Mott alumni and others in the community that can help those affected by the storm by collecting the following items which will be collected at Waterford Mott's game vs. Walled Lake Central on Friday night, 9/8/2017. Monetary donations are also being accepted. All monetary funds and items collected will be directly sent to the Koger's to assist them in these difficult times.
