River Rouge and Catholic Central to meet in week 8, 2019 (Story)
Detroit Catholic Central and River Rouge will meet in the 8th week of the 2019 football season.
Both teams have struggled to fill their schedules in recent years as the current playoff format has scared potential opponents away. Under the current rules, teams must have 6 wins to clinch a playoff spot in a 9 game schedule and 5 wins in a 8 game schedule.
When these two Class A schools meet in week 8, it could be a game where their playoff chances depend on a win or loss.
With MHSAA rules prohibiting Michigan teams from playing opponents outside of a bordering state and a 300 miles radius, it has made life even more difficult for teams to play football games.
