Prospects The D Zone will be seeing on 9/29 (Story)
The D Zone staff on Saturday will be heading up north for: Bellaire vs. Fife Lake Forest Area (8-Man), Central Lake vs. Tri-unity Christian (8-Man) and Traverse City Saint Francis vs. Boyne City (11-Man).
Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.
Traverse City Saint Francis:
2019 DT/OG Spencer Hathaway is a 6' 270 lbs interior mauler with good fundamentals and base. Should draw a lot of interest from D2, NAIA, and D3 schools.
2019 OLB/TE Tom Hegewald is a 6'2 200 lbs prospect who we project around D1-FCS/D2 level. Hegewald is an OLB prospect with good instincts, read-reacts well, and on top of being physically constructed well, runs sideline-to-sideline well. Also a player who plays with tremendous heart and effort.
2019 DB/RB George Mackey holds 4 D3 roster opportunities entering the game. Mackey who is 5'11 180 lbs is one of the Gladiators main playmakers as he's solid cover corner with nice physical attributes as well. Also utilizes his speed for off Tackle rushes
2019 DE/TE Henry Carroll is a very productive player who gets it done on both sides of the ball. Carroll had some key plays the last time The D Zone was at their game and we're told he's one of the top lacrosse players in the state.
2019 CB/RB Artie Dutmers is a 5'10 170 lbs strong cover corner as he has 3 interceptions this year and a solid RB too. Dutmers has two opportunities for play Division III football.
2019 RB/S Evan McGee is a 5'11 180 lbs versatile playmaker for the Glads who plays both ways. McGee over the off-season dominated a combine The D Zone was at and his quickness really shows in game and film.
2019 OC/DT Tommy Gallagher is a 6'1 225 lbs center with good versatility who is quick off the snap and blocking effectively.
2019 DT Mitch Westman 6' 200 lbs interior NG prospect who gets off snap well and is a sure-tackler.
2019 QB/S Danny Passinault is a the Gladiators most versatile player as he's an athletic player who is shifty and can turn up field well. Passinault is utilized all over the field in all 3 phases of the game.
Boyne City:
2020 MLB/TE Max Vondra is a 6'1 215 lbs prospect who is a very sure tackler and has a quick burst to hit the gaps. Vondra moves pretty well and we figure based off film is the Ramblers leading tackler.
2019 RB/OLB Dillon Sulak is a fast and lengthy 6'1 160 lbs prospect.
Central Lake:
2019 RB/LB Grant Papineau is one of the top returning players for Central Lake who was the 8-man state champions in 2017. Papineau is a hard-nosed and physical player who will have a major impact in this game who is getting D2 looks.
2019 ATH Skyler Spangler is one the most versatile skill players in 8-man football throughout Michigan. Spangler plays QB, RB, and DB for the Trojans. Spangler is a D3 recruit.
Bellaire:
2020 RB/Slot Connor Niepoth is one of the Eagles top playmakers.
2020 QB Luke Niepoth is a 3-year starter for the Eagles.
Fife Lake Forest Area
2019 MLB Hunter Perkins is a 6' 205 lbs tackling machine for the Warriors.
