Game and Prospects Recap from Zeeland East vs. Zeeland West (Story)

#30 Zeeland East defeated #33 Zeeland West 48-34 on Friday night. It appeared West would be off and running early in this game as they held a 20-6 lead midway through the 2nd quarter, but the dynamic quarterback, Gabe Taylor would take this game over with 5 total touchdowns and Josh Fusco added 2 touchdowns as well.

Zeeland East:

2019 QB/CB Gabe Taylor is an explosive athlete who forms a dynamic rushing duo with Josh Fusco. Taylor recently picked up his first offer from Ferris State and took a visit the next day to Central Michigan. Taylor had 3 passing and 2 rushing touchdowns on the day. Taylor is an exceptional athlete that is being recruited as an, "Athlete."

2019 OLB/TE Boone Bonnema is committed to Western Michigan and is the #54 ranked prospect in the state. Bonnema is 6'3 210 lbs and had a very active day vs. West's strong rushing attack. Bonnema on the night had 20 tackles.

2019 DE/OT Adam Berghorst is the #22 ranked player in the Class of 2019 by The D Zone and is committed to Michigan State. Berghorst who is 6'7 255 lbs was a key piece on the offensive line all night and defensively he got in the backfield on several occasions, he finished with 7 tackles.

2019 RB/S Joshua Fusco exited the game early with an injury but came back with a vengeance as he had 17 carries for 122 yards, 2 touchdowns, and 11 tackles on defense. Fusco had several nice broken tackles and has pretty good speed. The 5'11 200 lbs hit 1k rush yards on the season during the game and holds offers from; Davenport, Graceland, Indiana Wesleyan, and Saginaw Valley State.

2022 OLB/QB Tag Bonnema is a 6'4 197 lbs freshman who already holds an offer from Western Michigan. Bonnema looked solid in such a big game. Bonnema was in 14 tackles for East during the game.

2022 OT Andrew DeVries is a 6'2 275 lbs freshman and the Chix starting Left Tackle. DeVries more than held down his own as the offense erupted for 7 touchdowns and he'll wind up being a 4-year varsity starter.

Zeeland West:

2019 LB Ross Bolman is a nice prospect that we rank at #81 overall in the Class of 2019. Bolman who is 6'1 205 lbs is a hard hitting LB and holds a D1-FCS offer from Dayton. Bolman scored the Dux first rushing touchdown of the game and had several tough runs in their wing-t offense. Defensively he was involved in several tackles throughout the game.

2019 S/OLB/TE Mason Bakker is a 6'5 210 lbs prospect who was key for Zeeland West on both sides of the ball as he was able to get up field well as a TE and make some catches including a 30 yard-touchdown reception.

2021 QB/S Carson Gulker is a nice athlete at 6'2 180 lbs who led the Dux wing-t offense at quarterback. Gulker had 3 rushing touchdowns including a 45 yarder and a touchdown pass. The sophomore is a nice athlete with good size.

2020 RB/DB Chase Peddie is a 5'9 175 lbs player who had some nice runs and good stops on defense including an interception.
