Oxford's quick start paces the Wildcats to 56-42 win over Cougars
The Oxford Wildcats didn't have much problems with the visiting Stoney Creek Cougars in a OAA showdown on Thursday night.
Oxford jumped out to a 12-0 lead as Stoney Creek was forced to blow 2 timeouts to regroup before they got the offense moving.
Oxford's 2019 Mike Raisch was the Wildcats juice as he did a little bit of everything from shooting a bunch of open looks, distributing the ball, and attacking the rim for short shots or layups.
Oxford led by Jim Claudio's 16 points with 15 each from Raisch and Trey Townsend was way too much for Stoney Creek to keep pace with.
Stoney Creek gathered some last second momentum with a 3-pointer from Trevor Smith to cut the score to 31-24 at the break, but the Cougars momentum died there as Oxford controlled the tempo and was relentless on defense.
