Game Preview and Prospects The D Zone will be seeing at Midland and Traverse City West (Story)
The 2021 football season is slated to kickoff on August 26th at noon and the action will not stop until Saturday evening. Most of the top 25 teams face tough competition this week and some winning streaks may be snapped early this season.
Below are the prospects we're aware of entering the game. We look forward to discovering more talent.
Traverse City West:
2022 QB Brandon Konchek is 6'5 QB who is very much under the radar but has looked good previously at camps we've seen him at and a big week 1 performance can go a long way in boosting his recruiting process.
2022 TE/DE Caleb Kouchnerkavich does well both blocking and running routes from the TE position. At 6'2 215 could easily see him in a h-back role in college. Holds strong D-III and NAIA interest now with offers/roster spots.
2022 WR/DB Will Gaston at 6'4 205 is a tough matchup for opponents. He's a 3-sport athlete and will be a dangerous downfield threat. Holds an FCS and NAIA offer.
2022 MLB/RB Michael Schermerhorn is a workhorse player for the Titans and is a very physical talent at 6' 200 lbs. Holds FCS interest for MLB.
2022 RB/OLB Remy Schulz is a nice 2-way player who can be utilized running and catching the ball out of the backfield. He holds strong D-III interest now.
Midland:
2022 QB Drew Barrie is committed to Michigan Tech for basketball but at 6'4 195 should provide playmaking in the Chemics run-heavy offense.
2023 S Hudson Gerstacker will be an interesting player looking to step in. 6'2 185.
2022 RB Zion Douglass will be expecting to fill one of the biggest holes from their incredible class of 2021 and will be the big play threat.
2023 OL/DT Logan Ware will be the teams offensive tackle, but will likely be someone to transition to an interior position for the next level.
