Game and Prospects Recap from Linden and Notre Dame Prep (Story)
Notre Dame Prep broke in a new sophomore QB and jumped out to a 20-0 first-quarter lead. From there, the defensive line dominated and limited Linden to very few big plays.
We'll break down top performances below:
Notre Dame Prep:
2022 DE/TE Alex Scherle - Was a dominant force at DL for NDP as he was involved in many tackles in this game and flushed Linden's QB into many scrambles. Finishing with 9 tackles, 6 TFL, and 3 sacks, plus some catches on offense. Lined up out wide frequently.
2022 DE/OL Evan Noga - Big-bodied and high-motor prospect who was just as impressive as Scherle in a lot of ways. He blocked tremendously well on the offensive line as the offense was pretty good at moving the chains during the game.
2022 OLB/TE Johnny Dreer - Made an outstanding acrobatic interception which was his main highlight but he was around the ball a lot and was quick to make tackles around the sideline. Scored offensively, more of a h-back offense prospect.
2024 QB Jacob Tuttle - Made his varsity debut start and quickly drove the Irish downfield resulting in a touchdown pass. He has a quick release and we can tell once he gets more comfortable, he'll be a very dangerous dual-threat QB and the offense will open up more with time.
2022 WR/CB Billy Newman did well in coverage and made a tough touchdown catch that he caught on a deflection.
2024 RB Bradon Prater - Some nice strong physical runs and will be a strong piece for NDP this year.
2023 LB/TE Matt Sadecki - Had a very active game and is a nice-looking player.
2023 S Jeremy Gale - Was involved in several nice plays on defense breaking up passes.
Linden:
2023 RB/MLB Bryce Eliuk - Was our first time seeing him play and wouldn't be shocked to see him hit 100+ tackles this year. He gets to the ball really fast and weaves his way through blockers easily.
2024 TE/DE Montgomery Keener - Towering prospect who looked in the range of 6'5 180. Showed some flashes but we will check back on his growth.
2022 CB Garrett Wagner - Covered well and was a sure tackler.
2023 S Ethan Gomez - Physical Safety who bursts out of breaks and isn't afraid to tackle.
2022 DT Wyatt Gocha - High-motored interior lineman who moves well.
