Cranbrook halted by Macomb Lutheran North 49-46.
The Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Cranes dropped a home game to the Macomb Lutheran North Mustangs 49-46 last night.
Junior Evan Evans led the Cranes with 16 points, while junior John Kersh added 10 rebounds in support.
Senior Nicolas Petersdorf led the Mustangs with 22 points and 15 rebounds in the victory.
The Cranes got off to a good start, jumping out to a 16-12 lead in the first quarter. Evans and sophomore Cooper Gurman led with points beyond the arc. Cranbrookâs 3-pointers continued to find their mark in the second quarter for Kersh and senior Ethan Peruski.
Cranbrook took a slim 30-29 lead into halftime.
The Mustangs set the pace in the second half posting a strong 3rd quarter. Junior Joseph Woloszyck knocked down a 3-point shot to spur on the Lutheran North charge.
Petersdorf closed out the game with points in the low post to seal the Mustang victory.
Cranbrook will host Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest in their next contest, while Lutheran North travels to Utica Eisenhower. Both games are on Tuesday.
