Bearss twins discuss Michigan Tech offer
Both Briar and Bryce Bearss have known for a while they were going to get their chance at college football somewhere, both receiving offers to play from schools as early as March of this year.
Bryce the 6’5 200 lbs Quarterback was the first to get offered receiving an offer from Morehead State on March 10th. About a month later on April 25th his twin brother 6’ 213 lbs Linebacker Briar received his first offer from Morgan State. Since then the two have both added one offer apiece with Bryce picking one up from Northwest Minnesota State and Briar adding one from the Air Force Academy.
This last weekend saw the brothers take a trip together to see what Michigan Tech was all about. They were not disappointed, as they both received offers.
For the first time the brothers have an offer in common both picking up offers from the Huskies. That's something that means something to them says Briar.
“It’s pretty unique going through this whole process with my brother. It’s also pretty cool considering this is the first offer we both have.”
Bryce was also excited to share an offer with Briar but says it’s not a decider where either will end up.
“Briar and I have talked about it, we both want what’s best for one another whether that be us playing together or separately we would be happy for each other either way.”
Both had great things to say about the offer and what they saw at Michigan Tech on their visits.
Bryce- “It’s pretty big. Coach Metlack and staff are great guys. I’ll be making my decision in two weeks between my three offers. I liked what I saw at Tech.”
Briar- “It means a lot considering it has everything I look for in a school. I have a strong connection up here, being born in the U.P. and still having family up there.”
Briar also had some things to say about the coaching staff.
“Coach Metlack has been recruiting me and he’s been absolutely tremendous in terms of being straight up with me and maintaining contact since camp which is important to me.”
With Bryce making his commitment in two weeks, Briar said he has no real time table on his decision and says he won’t be making his decision with Bryce.
Briar was the “DZone Mid-Michigan Defensive Player of the Year” for Class B in 2017 on top of many other All-Conference and All-State honors. Bryce was on the 1st team “DZone Mid-Michigan Offensive Team” as well as receiving many All-Conference and All-State selections.
